When it comes to logistics, few things move as fast as the industry itself.
This year’s transport logistic 2025 in Munich was a powerful reminder of just how dynamic, global, and connected our world of time-critical transport has become.
For us at OBC ONE, the trade fair wasn’t just about showcasing what we do.
It was about deepening relationships, sharing hard-earned knowledge, and reflecting on how far our industry has come.
But before we dive into the trade fair madness, let’s take a step back.
What is OBC ONE, Really?
For those who are new to us: OBC ONE is a specialist in on board courier (OBC), sometime/in some locations also called hand carry, logistics.
That means we fly your most urgent shipments on commercial flights – personally.
We pick them up, fly with them, clear customs, and deliver them door to door.
Fast. Safe. With zero room for error.
We don’t just hope your cargo makes the plane.
We know it does. Because we’re sitting next to it.
This isn’t just logistics. It’s high-trust, high-stakes global delivery.
And there’s no place better to discuss the nuances of this world than with the people shaping its future.
A Global Hub in Munich
From June 2–5, 2025, the Bavarian capital once again became the center of the logistics universe.
Over 75,000 visitors from around the world gathered at transport logistic 2025, the world’s leading trade fair for logistics, mobility, IT, and supply chain management.
For our founder Jonathan Kolb and key team member Uli, it was four days of back-to-back meetings, reconnections, and chance encounters that sparked new ideas.
The event wasn’t just massive in size. It was packed with energy.
“You message, you call, you email all year long… but nothing beats seeing someone in person,” said Jonathan. “You share stories, shake hands, and suddenly those digital relationships become real.”
It was a rare chance to sit down with long-time partners, meet face to face with new ones, and discuss what really matters when every minute counts: trust, precision, and execution under pressure.
What Made OBC ONE Stand Out
Among the sea of booths, high-tech innovations, and business card swaps, OBC ONE had a clear message: We are the experts in what we do, because we only do OBC.
We’re not a generalist. We’re not a “maybe-it-works” solution.
We’re the partner you call when failure is not an option.
And this year, that specialization came with a new milestone:
We became the first OBC company worldwide to complete an IATA-certified Dangerous Goods training specifically tailored to hand carry operations.
We co-developed the training with ATP Training to ensure it fits the unique realities of time-critical courier work.
That kind of commitment to excellence didn’t go unnoticed in Munich. It sparked conversations about compliance, safety, and what professionalism really means in this space.
From the Booth to the Microphone: The FreightCaviar Podcast
One of the most memorable moments of the fair wasn’t just on the show floor, but in a quiet conference room, where Jonathan sat down with Paul-Bernard Jaroslawski and Tom Stawinski for a long-form conversation on The FreightCaviar Podcast.
And yes, it got real.
They covered everything from:
- What makes hand carry logistics so challenging (and exciting)
- The critical importance of saying “no” when others say “yes” without thinking
- Crazy OBC stories you wouldn’t believe unless you’d lived through them
It’s the kind of discussion that rarely happens in public.
Candid, insightful, and grounded in actual experience.
Jonathan shared how OBC ONE grew from a single phone call to a global network of 1500+ trusted couriers, ready to fly at a moment’s notice.
He talked about how building a culture of trust, reliability, and integrity is far more valuable than simply trying to be the fastest.
“We don’t just move boxes,” he said.
“We manage risk. We protect reputations. We solve problems when the plan breaks down.”
The result? A must-listen episode for anyone working in logistics – or simply curious about what goes into moving blood samples, aircraft parts, or prototypes across the world in record time.
Why It All Matters
Trade fairs are loud, busy, and exhausting. But they also remind us why we do what we do.
Every handshake at the OBC ONE booth was a reminder: behind every shipment is a person relying on us.
A factory line waiting.
A patient in need.
An aircraft stuck on the ground. And we’re there to fix it – with speed, yes, but more importantly, with clarity, calm, and competence.
It’s easy to focus on speed. But reliability?
That’s harder.
We choose the harder road. Because that’s the one that delivers.
What’s Next?
The industry is evolving. Regulations are changing. And expectations are rising.
But one thing stays the same: Urgent logistics needs professionals. Not improvisation.
We’ll continue to invest in training, people, and processes that make the impossible possible.
And if you haven’t heard the full conversation yet – or if you’re curious what makes OBC ONE tick – then it’s time to tune in:
